What To Consider While Installing Moroccan Tiles In The Bathroom

Moroccan bathroom tiles are one of the best tiles suitable for well-designed and stylish bathrooms due to their beauty and resilience. If you want to create a bathroom with a distinctive style, there is no match for Moroccan tiles. There are some great alternatives to these tiles but not as great as Moroccan tiles. Apart from being a beautiful piece of decoration, these tiles are very durable and water resistant. You can expect these tiles to last for years. Thanks to the versatility, you can create a truly unique design in the bathroom without digging deep into your wallet.

Regardless of the size of the bathroom, tiles can be used for creating an inspired design. However, apart from choosing the right tiles (obviously Moroccan bathroom tiles) for the bathroom, there is a lot of other work to do. Let’s talk about some of them.

Installing floor tiles

Tiles make the best bathroom floor. If you are properly sealing bathroom tiles, the floor will be very resilient and moisture resistant. Unlike other types of flooring, floor made from tiles are less prone to damage. So, not only the floor but walls also should be tiled.

If you already have a tiled bathroom floor

If you are planning to install new tiles in your bathroom then you may want to know what you can do with the existing tiles. Can you keep some of the existing tiles? For this, you will have to make sure whether the existing tiles can work with new fittings and sanitary ware. The color of the existing tiles is matching the color of new bathroom tiles. You may also have to replace the tiles surrounding basin, toilet and other fittings. Make sure that you are left with enough tiles to replace them.

In case you are doing this just to freshen up the décor without having a large budget, you can simply replace the tiles and refit the entire bathroom some other time. You can completely transform the space without changing the existing fittings simply by installing new tiles.

Installing wall tiles

If your plan is to refurbish the bathroom then the floor is not the only area you need to work on. Start with the wall you are willing to tile. Height is another factor you need to consider. You can install tiles on all walls or one or two walls. Whichever wall you are tiling, it should work in conjunction with shower, basin and other fixtures.

In case there is a fully enclosed shower having built-in waterproofing, you will have to add tiles on the shower wall. Same goes for the wall against which the bathtub is positioned. If you want to create a striking contrast in the bathroom then you can consider a feature wall. This wall can have different color or finish or both. Now the question is what to do with other walls? It depends on your budget, style and design. If your budget allows, you can install Moroccan bathroom tiles on all walls. Keep in mind, the work on other walls is going to impact the final design. So, choose the wall and wall height wisely.
